Further Logo Progress

I always violate someone's rule- some genius superstar designer whose name I can't at all remember- he did the IBM logo a hundred years ago in the dark ages before there was Twitter. He said, "Thou Shalt not spend lots of time just scrolling through every possible font until you like a couple of typefaces before you even start doodling." Fledgling, barely-educated in design renegade that I am, I do exactly that. It is clear from the last post that I did not play in type long enough, because I hadn't yet found this design lying dormant in my brain:

It's not finished yet, but I think it says what I want it to say in a much, much better way than the old one. It says sexy but not "this is an X-rated site," yeah? It's a quick & dirty comp- I have to do some Illustrator work when the baby is being a quiet little Disney zombie dear GODDESS how many times can a child watch Tinkerbell? if I get more free time. But, obviously I'm all into posting stuff in progress because of the transparency and the having of absolutely no boundaries:D In the mean time please feel free to be feedbacking.

Also? Purple prettyyyyyy. That's the exact color I want to paint my bedroom.

  1. purple = YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Make the positive in another color to play around... um... try your fleshy tone there, maybe? Or black... or red, but that's too X rated :D)

  2. Once I get the vectors all tweaked I'll play with color... I really like the positive sign swooping into the letter thought, so that world/shape probably will stay like one fluid thing. That pruplre = lurve! lurple?

  3. OK, let's try that last sentence again: "That purple = lurve! lurple?" Ah. There we go:)

  4. I like the swoopy, too, but can you color it graduated so it changes? (That's probably too fancy schmacy, I'll shut up now :D)

  6. Win!!!

I really like this design. The other one was cool, too, but this one is cleaner and a little more playful looking. Nice!!!

And yeah, that purple is delicious. I painted my bathroom that same color, almost (maybe a shade or two darker) and I really love it. Husband... not so much. Oh, well.

  7. Like it loads - I wonder if the + could graduate to a paler purple and then the "bloggers network" be in the same color (or whatever color) as the + to make it stand out a little more.

Also, I think it should be "bloggers' network"? Possessive?

  8. Damn! I suppose it *should* be possessive. Hmm. I was thinking of like, a collection of bloggers who are sex positive. Is there any conceivable way I can grammatically weasel out of an apostrophe? It's so much cleaner looking without it... Damn!!!! :)

  9. Blogger Network?

I dunno - you could go without. Only the grammar nitpickers will notice!

  10. Hmm. As I am usually one of said grammar nitpickers, I cannot follow a course of action where I could omit a necessary apostrophe. Blogger Network it is!
