Giveaway! 250 Custom Printed Greeting Cards from Digital Room

Through the oft-mentioned Blog Sponsorship program, I get to give two readers each a set of 250 greeting cards from Digital Room. (I also get my own 250... SWEET.) The details are as follows:
  • Comment here before Midnight EST, Monday August 31, 2009, telling me what you think you'll do with the cards. (I won't hold you to it.)
  • I'll pick 2 winners using the trusty random integer generator, and announce said winners before September 3.
  • The winners pay shipping. For my zip code, it's under $10. And your address has to be in the US. (I'm sorry... I ♥ Canada, too.)
  • You get 250 full color, folded greeting cards. You upload the design. The inside is blank. Inks are soy/veggie based & the card stock is 10 point weight, recycled.
  • Envelopes are available separately.
So, what to do?

I love greeting cards. There was audible squee when I got an email offering a custom greeting cards giveaway. My original design goal after falling in love with Adobe tools was to open an online stationery shop. So, I might get a new design printed and sell the cards in the Etsy shop. Or I could print one of the existing designs. Some of the little ACEOs would be great cards. I'm also really tempted to do winter holiday cards. The possibilities have me a mite dizzy.

I'm really excited to see how these turn out. I'll probably try the matte finish, because it sounds sorta classy. They also do custom postcards, which has been a corollary to the greeting card obsession. Truly, I blame Nick Bantok books.

What will you do with your custom cards?

Invites for a party?
Promos for an art reception?
Photos of your babies for 250 of your closest friends & family?
Thank yous for your wedding or baby gifts?
Sell a line of cards in your Etsy or blog?

It is both weird and awesome to be hosting giveaways of not-my-own art. It's like I won the lottery or got a promotion. Which is to say, lovely.

  1. Would love to, but I'm in Canada. I'll RT it for you though.

  2. What a lovely idea! I wanted to play too but I'm in Canada.

  3. ooh - I would totally make art prints of some new images I did at the PhotoWalk and use them as thank you cards for friends family and photo clients.

The hard part - picking just one image. Can you break it up and get 50/50/50/100?

I obviously didn't read for comprehension.

  4. Souster, those would be great cards! No, it has to be one image.

  5. Choosing just one image would be difficult, indeed...

I'd probably either shoot something new (um... there's a rumor I'm getting a dslr for my birthday, although I found one on craiglist today for a pretty effing great price!) or use my new banner image (tweaked a bit) and sell them/ give them away :D

  6. I probably would do a picture of little Mary at the beach since I actually managed to take some decent pics! Maybe some sort of border design by YOU around it...

Then again, I loved your winter holiday card idea.

Or, being in the charitable mood as of late, donate them to a worthy charity, ie., CTC, with an appropriate design for whatever--upcoming event, thank yous, etc.

  7. What a great giveaway!! I would definitely want to use one of my photographs and use them as promotional items. I love cards!

  8. so totally awesome! I agree about picking just ONe picture. That is so hard. But I think I know what photo to pick and they would look so awesome. I just dont think I know 250 people LOL

  9. I would totally use them to create Thank You cards for my buyers - a little piece of artwork along with their purchase.

  10. If I win can I use your art? Maybe a little collab with ya?

  11. I think that I'd have some of my art printed on it and use them for thank you cards!

  12. Oooh, lovely! I think I'd have my art printed on them and use some as my winter holiday cards to friends and sell some on Etsy.

  13. I'd use a photo of my little cutie -- or a pic from a great pre-baby trip with the hubby!

  14. I would use them as hostess thank-yous w/ the new business. Any chance I could get you to design the art on the front? ;)

  15. If I won, it might just be the nudge to get me to open an Etsy shop - and sell my art on greeting cards.

BTW, I like your blog. This is my first visit.

  16. Darlene, Thanks so much! Your blog's lovely, too. I LOVE bonatnical prints. You tomato is adorable!

  17. Wow, the odds are great, if you get to pick 2 winners out of the comments here!

I'd probably find some adorable non-copyrighted 100-year old children's book image from a fairy tale or nursery rhyme & use them for all-purpose notecards. Might even share w/ some of my friends. :-)

Thanks for letting us know about this and for the chance to win.

  18. Oooh! How yummy! I would love to focus in & emphasize the texture and layers of color in one of my paintings. (those parts tend to go unnoticed and happen to be my favorites)I would be thrilled to send them as random little "happy to know you" notes for friends & family. Sooo many ideas.. xo

  19. I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to

say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
